Plane, Sun, Clouds, Tree

Thursday, July 1st, 2010

Here are three images of the same photograph which include a plane, the sun, clouds and a tree.  All three were treated differently in post-camera processing.

  • The first one is the image as shot with no manipulation or enhancement.
  • The second image is desaturated / black and white.
  • The third image is saturated to level 62.

My question to you is which one is your favorite?  Bonus question.  Why?

Test over.  :)   Have a great 4th of July weekend!

Happy Solstice!

Saturday, June 19th, 2010

For the second time ever, and ten years after my first time, I attended the Solstice Parade in the Center of the Universe, aka the Fremont neighborhood in Seattle, WA.  It’s a local tradition and features happy nymphs, le soleil, and the infamous naked cyclists.  Let’s just say if you’re not ready to have “the birds and the bees” talk with your kids, perhaps taking them to the Solstice Parade isn’t the best idea.  For the rest of us though, it’s entertaining, humorous, and a public statement that you can do whatever you want on the almost longest day of the year.  People tend to get a bit giddy under the sun.  I sure do wish we would have had more of it today being that the high temperature was 56 degrees.  Oh well.  It’s still light outside. :)

Here are some images I made today at the parade.  Warning, you may see a crack or two.
