SeaScape Thailand 2010
Wednesday, March 24th, 2010And just like that, another SeaScape trip has come and gone. It’s wild to think that we got back from our Greece trip just six months before we embarked on our journey to Thailand and Malaysia. Thanks Jen! Our skippers were Diane, founder of SeaScape, and her partner, Ray, who skippered the bulk of the trip since Di was ashore taking care of the admin side of their business. It’s easy to see where Ben, our Greece trip skipper, gets some of his jokes and style. Ray is the “Craig Ferguson” of the Andaman Sea, an old salt captain and party animal (no matter what Ray’s bio says).

Now to the crew. First the founding fathers/mothers of the oontz/oons/uns and original SeaScape sailors, Nate and me, and my cousin Jen and her husband Mike. To this group we added our neighbors, Brian and Shannon, and, because we couldn’t fill the boat on our own, we met and enjoyed the company of Polly and Shani, a pseudo mother/daughter pair from Florida and Georgia respectively. Lots of y’alls and southern accent could be heard around the boat. Once gathered in Ao Chalong, on the southern Phuket peninsula, one round of Singhas and vodka tonics later, we were off to the catamaran, Nyaminyami, for our 10-day sail.
I’ll do my best to recount the highlights of the trip here and show you the wonders of the small portion of Thailand we saw. It really was a wonderful trip.
Chohk dii! (Cheers!)
โชคดีค่ะ
Another highlight, I’m a giant in Thailand!
